My First Book Launch - July 2024

I had been imagining this day for a while…

My brain had been swirling with ideas of how I wanted to celebrate the launch of my first ever book- Nana Teapot and the Grand Opening. It only seemed fitting to celebrate with our own ‘Grand Opening’ by having a tea party. I decided that I wanted lots of colour, bunting, fun activities and lots of cake. Often I have too many ideas to bring to fruition and I struggle to complete them all. This happened yet again and I had to ‘abandon ship’ on certain ideas and continue with the ones where I had already mostly gathered the materials together.

However it truly was a special day, and I am so pleased with how it turned out and I’m thankful for everyone who came and celebrated with me.

A room filled with lovely people.

Activities included: Teapot biscuit decorating, paint your own teapot, teapot card craft, colouring stations, gingerbread playdough station, cupcake playdough station, a role play area; and then outside we had a ‘milk the cow’, face in hole, coloured sensory rice, water play. It filled my heart with joy to see all the wonderful children enjoying the activities that had been prepared.

Face in the hole, this took a few days to paint and a kind and talented friend built the base/stand for me.

Oh- and of course the tea and cake. I think in total I baked around 150 scones. We had cheese, cherry and plain. My wonderful mum baked enough lemon drizzle cake to feed an army and helped so much on the day!

I want to take a moment to thank all of you who came, you made the day so special and I’m so thankful that you were there to celebrate with me. Also for all of you who were unable to come, thank you for all of your messages and emails- they mean so much to me.
